The Mahasandhi Buddhist Group was set up on the Isle of Wight in 2006 on the instruction of Kyabje Pema Kalsang Rinpoche, 12th throne holder of Dzogchen Monastery, together with Mura Rinpoche, director of the Lotus Ground Retreat Centre.
Dzogchen Monastery is an ancient and renowned monastery in the Tibetan region of Kham, and the monastery and Shira Sing College have now been almost entirely restored. With new accommodation for the growing community of nuns, Dzogchen is once again a perfect centre of study and practice, and summer of 2016, 15,000 people gathered joyfully together to attend the Great Bodhicitta Offering Ceremony in the Retreat Centre.
The Mahasandhi Buddhist Group is very fortunate in being able to serve as an authentic and reliable bridge between the Lamas of Dzogchen Monastery, the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and western students.
Since 2006 we have been meeting together regularly every month. The group is open to everyone with a sincere interest in learning more about Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhist meditation.
You’re very welcome to join us!
